The terms that apply when you use this website

Last updated: 24 October 2026

These terms set out the rules for using this website and explain the important limits on the information it contains. They are written to be read, not skimmed, so we have kept them as clear as we can.

By accessing or using this website you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website. Information about how we handle personal data is set out separately in our Privacy Policy.

General information is not legal advice.

Every matter turns on its own facts. Speak to an advocate before you act.

01  About these terms

This website is operated by the chamber of Kazi Akhtar Hosain, Advocates & Legal Consultants (“the Chamber”, “we”, “us” or “our”). These terms govern your access to and use of the website, including all pages, articles and forms on it.

References to “you” mean any person who visits or uses the website. If you use the website on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

02  Use of this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only, to learn about the Chamber and the services it offers and to contact us. You must not use the website in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, infringes the rights of others, or interferes with the website’s operation or security.

03  No legal advice

The content of this website, including articles published in Insights and descriptions of our practice areas, is provided for general information only. It is not legal advice and must not be relied on as such.

The law changes frequently and its application depends on the particular facts of each case. Content may not reflect the most recent legal developments. You should always obtain advice from a qualified advocate about your specific circumstances before taking, or refraining from, any action.

04  No lawyer–client relationship

Visiting this website, reading its content, sending us an enquiry through the consultation form, or communicating with us by email or telephone does not create a lawyer–client relationship between you and the Chamber.

A lawyer–client relationship is created only when the Chamber has completed its conflict checks and has expressly agreed, in writing, to act for you. Until then, we are not responsible for protecting your interests in any matter, including any deadlines or limitation periods that may apply to it.

05  Enquiries and confidentiality

We treat every enquiry with care and in confidence. However, please do not send confidential, sensitive or time-critical information through the website or by email before we have agreed to act for you. Information sent before an engagement may not be protected in the same way as communications with an engaged client, and receiving it may not prevent us from acting for another party in the same matter.

If your matter is urgent, for example where a hearing date, arrest or deadline is imminent, please telephone the Chamber rather than relying on the website.

06  Engagement and fees

If we agree to act for you, the scope of our work, our fees and the terms of our engagement will be set out in a separate written engagement letter. Those terms, and not these website terms, will govern our professional relationship with you.

Any indication of fees or timescales given before an engagement letter is signed is an estimate only and does not create a binding obligation.

07  Results and experience

Any reference on this website to past matters, experience or outcomes is provided for general information only. It does not promise or guarantee a similar result in any other matter. Every case is decided on its own facts, evidence and law.

08  Professional conduct

The Chamber’s advocates are enrolled with and regulated by the Bangladesh Bar Council and are bound by its rules of professional conduct and etiquette. This website is intended to provide information about the Chamber. It is not intended to solicit work in breach of those rules.

09  Intellectual property

The text, design, logo, graphics and arrangement of this website belong to the Chamber or are used under licence. Some photographs are used under the Unsplash licence.

You may view, download and print pages from the website for your own personal, non-commercial reference. You must not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute or adapt any part of the website for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

10  Acceptable use

When using the website you must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its server or any connected system;
  • introduce viruses, malware or any other harmful material;
  • use automated tools to scrape, copy or monitor the website without our consent;
  • send false, misleading, abusive or unlawful messages through our forms; or
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your connection with any person or organisation.

We may restrict or suspend access to the website, or disregard enquiries, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.

11  Links to other websites

Where the website links to other websites, such as courts, government departments or publications, those links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over the content or availability of those websites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss arising from your use of them.

12  Accuracy and availability

We take reasonable care to keep the website accurate and up to date, but we make no warranty that its content is complete, current or free from errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the website at any time without notice, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or uninterrupted.

13  Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Chamber shall not be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising from the use of, or reliance on, this website or its content, or from any inability to access it.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, or affects the duties we owe to clients under a written engagement.

14  Privacy

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

15  Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of this website, are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The courts of Bangladesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim.

16  Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms at any time by updating this page. The version published here is the one that applies each time you use the website, so please check it from time to time. These terms were last updated on 24 October 2026.

17  Contact us

If you have any questions about these terms, please contact the Chamber through our Contact page.
